finally put together the bicycle. it rides pretty good, but the proportions or the sitting is pretty different from the male. and it's also higher. probably do a few more test runs with it before i take it apart.

my recent visit to a bicycle wholesaler. still haven’t put it together yet. building this as a partner for my male frame although i’ll be trying an internal gear hub from sturmey archer. let see how that'll work out. i don’t really fancy the alloy rims, but i guess the weight ratio is good since the hub already weighs 1kg. plan to put the basic bike up and a test ride this weekend.

somehow the map here isn't high res enough to see the road names. total of 24km. Had some pictures in KL with landmarks and did a stop over at palate palette to soak up on some liquids before my push to melawati for lunch with my parents and kenn, (kenn took pics too). i had to push my bicycle up the final leg to my home. I picked up my bicycle at 11am was home about 3.30pm. The journey time was probably only 1 1/2 hrs.

Bringing it back. friday 14th august, cycled from studio, 31 hindoo road to KTM Tanjong Pagar Station (6.7 km) took me about 40 mins. Didn't take much pics, as i was late and it started to rain. so i had to get to station asap. (Delay; forgot my passport at home, had to go back to get it after already almost reaching studio) Got a little lost at tanjong pagar road, kept thinking i was on another road and referring to the map while cycling.

Good Morning Everyone!

A flying pigeon 26", handmade in china, pure steel all 25kg of it! Custom ordered with full gear casing and special hub brakes. Got dynamo and lights set but yet to install. Modified the braking system. Just made the maiden voyage to office this morning, all 17km of it. what a relic on wheels, it was abit tough but very comfortable ride.

What do you think of white wall tyres?

got a cool new tool to help me in the modification of the brake system. it’s called a caliper by sellery tools “for external, internal and depth precision measurement”. been measuring alot of things for reference

few important measurements
a. freewheel – 15mm depth (18 teeth)
b. rear wheel brake tension distance – 7.5-8mm
c. rear wheel rod brake pulling distance – 10.5mm
d. front wheel brake tension distance – ?
e. front wheel rod pulling distance – ?
f. brake cable wire thickness – 2mm

*stage 2.0 flying pigeon 26" QE23

I've received my customised flying pigeon, started tweaking it up. looks black on the picture but actually dark olive green. encountered some problems when trying to fit the hub brake rims. the diameter of rim rods are 8.5mm and the original spec only fits 7mm. will need to file it down to fit new rims, but disadvantage would be that i can;t fit back the original rims. i'll leave that to another day, for now i'll just admire it. took off front mudguard to replace. has a little dent.

*stage 01.1 - brake lever set

complete brake lever set for cable operated brakes. cast in steel,
chromed and pre-installed in china. won't be using this set, but
will use some parts for modifications to braking system.

took apart brake hub, need flat spanner No. 15 to adjust rear hub.
brake pads looks hard to replace or find. should start looking for
replacements at bicycle or motorbike shops.

since my last bicycle was stolen, i've been longing for it. looking high and low, almost every bike in little india looks like it. and i know every scratch and ding on that bike, i've repainted the white tail end, changed most of the screws to dark metal types and many more. well the truth is, i wanted to lose it. i had too much memories of past on that bike. and i felt it was time to let go of that. in a way the bicycle now leads a new life, as for me too. so i bid you farewell my lovely seagull.
